With the value of "early intervention" and “Child-Centered’’ as the working approach, we enhance the potential of youth and at the same time, raise the awareness from public to support and care the disadvantaged children and families in the community.
The Neighbourhood Support Child Care Project
Yan Chai Hospital Social Service Department was funded by Social Welfare Department to operate The Neighbourhood Support Child Care Project (NSCCP) in Tsuen Wan District since October 2011. It aims to provide needy parents with flexible form of day child care service for children aged under 9 at the neighbourhood level and to foster mutual help and care in the community
The Child Development Fund
The Child Development Fund (CDF) aims to support longer-term development of children aged 10 to 16 from a disadvantaged background, with a view to alleviating inter-generational poverty. CDF comprises of three key components namely Personal Development Plan, Targeted Savings and Mentorship which seeks to encourage children to plan for their future, develop a savings habit, and accumulate intangible assets such as positive attitude, personal resilience, social network, etc..
After School Care Program
To strengthen the support to the working parents and single-parent families, center has started the After School Care Program which provides homework guidance for Primary One to Primary Three students since September 2012. It aims to prevent children from being left unattended or falling prey to undesirable gangs after school.
