Yan Chai is committed to building up healthy school culture and establishing positive attitude to life for our students. To implement this healthy school policy, we planned and applied for the “Healthy Schools in Yan Chai” project to the Beat Drug Fund which has approved and shown its support to the project with a grant. The Project of “Healthy Schools in Yan Chai” is participated by all of our affiliated secondary schools and anti-drug elements are included. In addition to organizing healthy activities and interest groups, the Project also serves to identify the students in need of assistance and to provide them with immediate consultation.
In 2015/16 school year, Yan Chai and Correctional Services Department co-organized 6 sessions of anti-drug forum theatre at our affiliated secondary schools. The Hong Kong Repertory Theatre was invited to produce the play. The forum theatre enabled the students to take up role play during the drama and discuss through interactive exchanges the price paid for committing crime and the ill effects of taking drugs. The activity also promoted the information of rehabilitation and the importance of making right choice. On 6 October 2015, the kick-off ceremony for the forum theatre was held at our Lim Por Yen Secondary School. Officiating guests included Mr. TSE Ho-yin, Senior Superintendent (Rehabilitation) of Correctional Services Department, Mr. BOU Shing-ip, Sammy, Mr. Marcus C.W. LEE, Board Directors, Mr. WONG Wai-kin, Alfred, Chief Executive, they enjoyed the drama with the students.
