We are committed to building up healthy school culture and establishing positive attitude to life for our students. In 2019, with the support of the Beat Drugs Fund, we organised for the first time the "Yan Chai STEM FAIRE 2019 " that strengthened STEM education and increased public awareness in IT development. Through a wide variety of activities, the Faire promoted science and technology knowledge across our schools and the community. It also led our students know more about themselves and develop positive values through DIY and sharing.
The "Healthy Schools in Yan Chai " project has been supported by the Beat Drug Fund since the 2012/2013 school year. In addition to organising healthy activities and interest groups, the project also serves to identify the students in need of assistance and to provide them with immediate consultation. The project of "Healthy Schools in Yan Chai " continues in 2018/2019 school year in order to spread and deepen the ideas of Healthy Schools Project. It is participated by five of our affiliated secondary schools and anti-drug elements are included.
The Hong Kong Student International Innovative Invention Contest 2018 was organised by Yan Chai. In order to help our students tackle the HKDSE, we organised two examination seminars covering the four core subjects (Chinese, English, Mathematics and Liberal Studies) during September to October 2018. Various experienced educators specialised in these subjects were invited to deliver talks to our students, and shared thoughtful revision strategies with students to prepare the HKDSE. On the other hand, we jointly organised inter-school HKDSE English oral practices for our affiliated secondary school students with Wall Street English, which provided a short talk on examination skills and mock oral practices to the students. The mock examination practice could enable students to gain experience and be well prepared for the HKDSE.
